According to the MLK website, this day is the chance for everyone to start the year off right by making an impact in your community and honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy by giving service.

I am so grateful for individuals who stand up for what is right and dedicate their life to make a change in our society like MLK once did. Today I want to personally make an effort and forever change someone else's life by doing simple acts of kindness whenever I have the opportunity.
